Electives: Siberia

Drawing upon the expertise of our partners of the Leiden based National Museum of Ethnology, LUCRES offers a number of courses focusing on Siberia.

General introduction

LUCRES offers a general introduction in the languages and peoples of Siberia. If you're enrolled in the BA or MA programme Russian Studies or Slavic Languages and Cultures, this course is an excellent opportunity to plunge into the multi-ethnic state that Russia really is. But historians as well will find that this course adds something extra to their programme.

MA course

In addition to the introductory course, LUCRES also offers a course exclusively for students in the MA programme.

Availability

The general introduction course is available to all LUCRES students, whether you're enrolled in the BA or in the MA programme. Of course, the course load will be different according to the programme you follow. You can only choose the MA course if you're enrolled in an MA programme.

The courses on Siberia are electives and subject to approval of the Examination Committee of your programme.
